We used to think that there was little benefit from anything other than the cheapest.  Then we encountered the terrible service at NameCheap.  Our suggestion, compare costs, consider
spending $10 or $12 per year for a good registrar.  Registering a name is not essential.

We have used Google Calendar for several years, and it has certainly simplified both the creating of a schedule and the publishing to all who need to know.  Google Calendars have many 
options, including the ability for you to post your unit's dates on the calendar, and have an embedded form on your web page. That way people do NOT need to go to your Google calendar
and sign in, they can view it on your own web page.  Google Calendars allow a unit to have several responsible members all add to or edit items on the calendar.  Unit members or 
adults can be invited to subscribe, and they will received emails of planning changes, and new events if they desire.

You are welcome to download any of the templates, for the use of your Boy Scout Troop, Cub Scout Pack, Explorer Post, etc.  These were all written by us, and are free to use.  Your
browser can do this for you.  Find a clear area of the page, one that does not have a picture or text, and RIGHT click on the area.  One of the choices will be to "View the Page Source" or "Source"
or something similar.  Once selected the actual page description language will be seen in a new window.  Save that text, and name it as you like, but use the extension .htm or .html. You 
now have a copy of exactly what was used to produce the graphics and text positioning and size that you saw.  While you can easily download any of our html pages, the email contact page is not
