Do you wish you could see clearly without glasses 
or contacts? Then we should meet and discuss your 
options!
I will give you one full hour of my time. Together, 
we will review your visual issues, needs and wishes, 
check your eyes with state-of-the-art equipment 
and perform a thorough ophthalmic evaluation. Then 
I will present your personal treatment options and 
review them with you in detail.
At present, I do not charge for this assessment service - I just ask for the courtesy to advise me well in advance, should you decide NOT to use an appointment you have made. Fair enough?
Chances are that you will leave my office with a realistic understanding of what you can expect from Laser Vision Correction, and what not. You certainly will know what procedures I do recommend for your eyes, if any.
As a document of your visit, I then send you a letter detailing your personal visual correction plan in writing - with everything you need to make a properly informed decision. If this letter makes you want to ask more questions: just call me.
Proceeding with Laser Vision Correction is entirely at your discretion. This surgery is optional - most people can fall back to other options to improve eyesight, like glasses or contact lenses.
But should you decide to proceed with Laser Vision Correction, then I will 
guide and accompany you through the process:

we will both meet at the Wellington Eye Centre 
in Wellington, where I will perform your surgery, 
and on the next day see you for your first checkup 
visit
for your one week visit I see you again in Christchurch
the next routine visits (at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after surgery) can be in Christchurch, or per your choice anywhere in NZ
being Christchurch-based, I am normally available 
to see you at other times, as required
At the Wellington Eye Centre (WEC), the entire range of cornea-based 
vision correcting laser procedures is available (femtoLASIK, 
FLEX, LASEK, PRK, Laser Blended Vision for 40 to 65 
year olds, and more). These offer customised vision 
correction for almost any focusing error within a 
wide prescription range.
Of course, there are limits to what 
is possible, and I will tell you during your initial 
assessment if any apply in your case. As of late 2012, 
you won't find more advanced tools in NZ than WEC's 
Carl Zeiss VisuMax laser. Only at WEC you find the 
Carl Zeiss MEL80 lasers Blended Laser Vision profile.
