The book is called "The Girl He Used To Know" and it is written by Tracey Garvis Graves. I would like to thank SheSpeaks and the author for my Advanced Readers Edition and the opinion in this review is my own.This book definitely beat my expectations and it blew me away due to it being so unique and different from other books. The books main character has Autism Disorder which makes normal things quite difficult for her but she manages to continue to live an adult life (with some challenges of course). She goes to college where she meets the love of her life, she plays chess with the chess club (and is better at it then most), she volunteers to help animals (definitely my type of person) and other things that shows that she can function. When we hear about Autism it is normally about how the person "can't function" so I was glad to see a book challenge that stigma! I felt like I knew the main character and her boyfriend/love interest quite well as the book describes them quite well (including some of their thoughts and their lives). This book is about rediscovering love for someone (a 2nd chance at a relationship). The relationship between the main character and her boyfriend is definitely goals as you can see how protective he is of her, how he tries to help her, how he sometimes pushes her out of her comfort zone and how they grow together (I am glad that she reclaimed this relationship as it is definitely healthy and great for her!).
