Click on the flag to access resources in this language The TULIP Network represents a new and unique European partnership which brings together the University and Trades Union sectors through a shared vision for better access to lifelong learning for trades union members. The Network is a starting point on the journey towards collaborative working arrangements which stimulate change in working lives through updated skills and knowledge and the associated benefit of more secure and sustainable employment. Why should Trade Unions be interested in TULIP? Trade Unions recognise that social promotion and mobility can be directly enhanced through participation in lifelong learning. TULIP’s exploration of Trade Union-University collaboration presents models which describe ways in which the 2 sectors can work together to open the doors to learning for trade union members. It also offers resources which can support the development of cooperation and the opportunity to link with experienced colleagues. The University sector has a clear commitment to equity and diversity and a long tradition of work with adult learners, disability options and composite doors in South Shields.
