Unity | Growth | Assistance | Improvement | Nutrition The goal of U G.A.I.N. is to provide consistent, disciplined, loving leadership that will lead to the revitalization of urban Memphis by teaching the youth in the community to read before they enter the public school system, by improving the health of the youth and their parents in the community, with a nutritious diet and at the same time teaching them the social skills necessary for success, by educating the whole family in the community and showing them how to eliminate the existing drug sub-culture that is destroying their community.These are bold endeavors. These goals clearly imply that inner-city residents don’t perceive education as valuable, they don’t have goal-oriented attitudes, and they are not contributing members of society. This implies a kind of social inertia. If we can achieve these goals, then we can raise up indigenous leaders who will then be in a position to transform their community.
