Home About HNU School of Humanities Enrolment Information Scholarship Contact us School of Humanities,HNU School of Humanities, Hangzhou Normal University consists of 3 academic departments£¬namely, the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the Department of History and the Department of Tourism Management. The school now has 5 specialties for undergraduates that cover Chinese literature, history, tourism management, Chinese as a foreign language, and humanistic education. Additionally, the school runs 7 master degree programs including Chinese Philology, Chinese Contemporary Literature, Chinese Ancient Literature, Literature and Art, Classical Works, Chinese Contemporary History and Specific History. Besides, it is entitled to confer master degree of Chinese Education. At present, the school has qualified and competent faculty members, including 60 professors and associate professors and more than 30 have earned a Ph.D. degree. Among the full-time faculty, 1 was awarded State Council Special Allowance, 4 were selected into the second level of "the 151 Talent Project" of Zhejiang Province, 6 were awarded Zhejiang Province University Youth Discipline Leader and 8 were selected into the first and second level of ¡°the 131 Talent Project¡± of Hangzhou City. The school has established 2 provincial key disciplines, including Chinese literature and history, and 3 provincial excellent courses. It has shaped the teaching style to cultivate the talents with humanistic spirit, comprehensive knowledge and versatile skills. The School of Humanities has held the 19th drama season. It has made notable achievements in the field of campus drama, and gained "Caoyu Drama Award", the top award of Chinese drama. The school also has 1 key subject (Chinese Contemporary History) at provincial level and 2 key subjects at civic level. Besides, there are 5 key research centers at school level, including Provincial Research Base of the Republic Era in Zhejiang History, Hangzhou Research Center, Institute of Chinese Contemporary Literature and Culture, Institute of Zhejiang Local History and Culture, Institute of Study Science and Institute of Language research. In addition, there are another 5 scholastic research centers. Taking advantage of the research priority in some disciplines and promoting the teaching innovation, the school actively adapted itself to the development of Hangzhou city and Zhejiang province, and made a great contribution to the local economy and social development. Since 1978, the school has cultivated more than 5000 talents who have done a good job in various sectors.
