My son, François, was passionate about rescuing people. As a helicopter pilot, it was his job – but also his life. When he died, I wanted to keep François’ passion alive – by promoting the things that fascinated him, and by rescuing orphans and people around the world from extreme poverty. And so FXB was born, with the ultimate aim to bring about peace and security in the world by focussing on children, youth and women.

FXB Foundation
The FXB Foundation has invested in many of the things that fascinated François-Xavier Bagnoud and inspired his life: a love of the Alpine region where he worked, a fascination with flight and space, his academic studies and the promotion of human rights and public health around the world.

FXB International
FXB International is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) which works around the world to rescue people from extreme poverty through the FXBVillage program,a pioneering three-year holistic approach to bring about long-term poverty eradication. This approach was designed to simultaneously address the five drivers of extreme poverty – the lack of healthcare, housing, education, nutrition and business. Thanks to an initial capital given to the participants at the beginning of the programme – and not borrowed – extreme poor families can set up an income generating activity and therefore given the capacity to become self-sufficient in the long-term.
