A second evolution was done and two of the firefighters were "pinned" by officers to simulate a "downed firefighter" situation. At that point the firefighters had to find their PASS alarm and call for a mayday. When calling for a mayday, we ask/train to use the mnemonic L.U.N.A.R (Location, Unit, Number of FF's down and Names, and Resources needed) to be called. This assists Command staff with several things when sending help and helps the firefighter concentrate on something other than being trapped. Once found, the downed firefighter was carried out and discussions after the evolution was done to talk about other ways to get him/her out.TweetFLOODING RESCUESunday, August 3, 2014 During heavy rains in the area, Company 5 was alerted to the intersection above for a reported vehicle stuck in the water with a female still inside.
